Many in this part of the world say they don’t like money but their attitude shows they worship the paper more than their God. It would be okay for us to acknowledge that we want to fulfill our needs rather than the fake feelings we show.

In recent years, the CBN governors have helped our economy in a little way while they’ve been interested in governance and cheap publicity. Instead of being holed up in their office thinking of positive economic reforms rather than all this patch-the-hole approach. Seems the poverty mindset has affected the office and they prefer to neglect their responsibilities.

Money is freedom so it’s the amount of freedom we enjoy that brings enough money to the table. The rich have a small circle where they devise ways of making money in their ‘spare time’. The paper is only a legal tender to run transactions and the deals we sign determines how long it will stay with us.

Making the cheddar depend on your relationship level in the societal chain depend if you at the bottom, middle or at the top. Traditional education and job security are the last thread of the industrial age, their time is over so it’s essential if we can look inward into Ourselves. How you can fit well into the society determine your relevance and freedom. ‘When you strife for perfection, your reputation becomes spotless’

This is the age of working smart with your head and not working hard with your hands alone. The finance minister might ignore the debt pile but the CBN governor has aggravated our plight. Warren Buffet earlier this year when discussing about banks passed his comment which was confirmed a week later by Financial times that ‘the movement of money from one bank to another will only crash the economy’

The Apex Bank keeps bringing policies but they’ve never implemented policies that would put them on their toes. Continuous marginalization has turned a repetition with bankers loosing their jobs and more customers looking out their account balance. The doubting thomas have withdrawn their account to deposit in ‘another trustworthy bank’. Moving money from bank to bank only complicates the growth of our GDP and economic growth in the international market.

In times like this, the best thing to do is investing rather than spending though saving might look bitter if we have enough deposit depreciating in our account. Let’s start discovering those things we can use in do rather than saving. For some of us who love to have something beside, it will be better to invest on those little things we can convert to bigger things and can fetch cool money when needed.

Squared pegs in round holes, introducing cashless policy might seem progress for the Apex bank with their own brandishing. For them to hide the negative effects of it on our economy, they gave it enough publicity and put in our faces the little positive side. Gradually, they keep driving the train of Capitalism into our borders. How the citizens will survive becomes the REAL DEAL THE GEJ GOVERNMENT WILL NEVER PROVIDE?

Happy, sad and confused, I saw the news flash on Channels TV that Nigeria’s finance minister Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is nominated for the position of world bank’s president. This is a good achievement for the GEJ administration before May 29 if it should work out.

Nigeria has been known for all the negative news this year and this might just be the beginning of good things to come. You agree because we need to support our own this time so our economy can see the reality of life.

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has been in the World Bank doing great for herself which had always made her favorite for the top position. The World Bank has gone through rough phases in recent years due to reduced circulation of money. It has enjoyed the backing of the U.S who has been its biggest spinal cord and survived through campaigns like ‘50 years is enough’ which has become abortive.

The next World Bank president will be announced soon but many have argued who’s the best candidate for the job with both leading candidates for the first time coming from developing countries. Both Jim Yung Kim and Ngozi Okonjo Iweala both came from Korea and Nigeria respectively.

Dr. Jim might have enjoyed the backing of Barack Obama for the position, the vision of its shareholders remains the top priority to reduce poverty and support development. He’s had most of his experiences in the public sector fighting HIV but his ability to group and delegate people for projects puts him top for the job.

Unlike his counterpart, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has enjoyed the backing of the African Union for the top position. She has been in the World Bank with most of her active roles being on economic reform in Africa. With the world bank going through reforms, many would argue that Aunty Ngozi deserves the position to eradicate poverty and support development with her ability in Financial reforms, job creations etc.

Ringing the name Okonjo Iweala in Nigeria’s politics might be on silent before July 2003 until she was appointed finance minister in the OBJ administration. With major achievements like clearing the heap of debt in Paris club brought a huge relief to the nation. She took on her heels when her ministry was changed and joined the last train back to the World Bank.

Her legacy left many clamoring for women in politics, so it was a public appeal when Dr. GEJ brought her back into the government. Same old bottle with a new fill of wine, she started her position with hopes high. When she came out with her idea of revitalizing the economy, she gained a lot of fans but as soon as the break down was given, the applause died down with everyone counting their loss.

The Occupy Nigeria is still a protest the FG has not recovered from and they worry what might happen if another economic reform is done. Instead of diversifying the economy, she supported in removing fuel subsidy in its downstream sector. A fantastic idea which was never evaluated in terms of its citizens and the reality on ground has made a lot think the once sheep is now a wolf.

Aunty Ngozi’s CV for this position will be the Nigerian people who have suffered from her policies which are sweet in paper to carry out but do not fit into the reality of the situation of the country.

The Obama administration may have supported Aunty and GEJ during the oil subsidy protest. Looking back and feeling the agony on Nigerians faces with the zeal to say NO to their suffering. The whole accolades might be sweet talking and politics to increase their own merchandize.

Now that it’s the time for her to champion such a course in the World Bank, the U.S might come to her reality. With the whole economic situation of the world, a mistake at the TOP bank might cause a ripple on the world’s finances but it’s not like the Laboratory Approach of Jim Yung Kim will work in this situation. As April 16 ticks away, we wish Aunty Ngozi good luck (at least they are good friends) on her new appointment.

THE NIGERIAN’S REALITY

Just woke up this morning and I’m tryna tidy up the room before setting out for the day. Say your prayers and read the wise words of the Lord, I’m so accomplished for the day. My books are arranged but when a visitor tours my library I love it until this particular one saw my cash flow quadrant and commented: These guys would write things according to their own knowledge not the reality.

I asked what the reality of ours is, he said IT CANT WORK and my anger kindled like the rocket because its evident some persons never believed in themselves, it has all been a life of faith who’s going to make it and who’s not. I tried getting him to make his point and though he was older, I was supposed to listen, he started giving instances of 1973 and before long he couldn’t back up his argument and ran out of the room.

A lot have fell into the trap of going to the older generation for ideas, which is good but some are dumb that they don’t sieve through what they should accept. Life changes everyday, so the wisdom of yesterday might turn the foolishness of today. Shouldn’t we listen to them, NO we would make it quick if we get direction from our mentors on our pathway to success not asking for their way?

The story has changed for my nation that the wealthy ones have decided to go on slumber making the African type of phone call every time you see them. I’ve joined the class who blames our government when life has always been about faith and fear. The rich believe they can make it, the poor believe they can’t. The milestone of making a product is possible for the rich but for the poor making it big is a problem that their fore fathers never promised them.

Making it here would require a violent man especially if you want to keep your dignity and make it to heaven. A compliment is like a kiss in the veil, you never get the natural feeling. It’s funny when everyone feels they can make it going with our present mentality, we are not starting any new companies with the help of unfavorable economic conditions from the GEJ government, yet they want to get foreign investors. I just pray we don’t become slaves in our country finally.

You can decide not to start anything but unless you try and start something, you will never achieve. So we all head to church praying to God like he was a Nigerian and we serve him the best, yet other nations serve him. No wonder a friend of mine says it’s our level of poverty that has made us accept religion in a crazy way while another claimed “the highest number of pagans gather on Sunday.” I believe in God and his redemption but the believers in Nigeria have under estimated God with their own ‘no-faith’ at all. We then come back and say he can’t do miracles like the old while all you do is gist, sleep, watch films and football making it difficult for him.

It’s general Money is Power which I agree to but I don’t have money yet, at least now. The only thing I can acquire which is close to me is knowledge, if I can get it right on my passion. I would pray to meet the influential people who can invest on it. God granting me I begin to roll with the influential and see how they live their life.  Sieving it through to my own person, I begin to have the power I once wished for but lest you forget the money is going to come also once you have the power. My back door approach, I wish to share. I take my future in my hands not working with all this tradition, I break all rules.

You work with your age not expecting your age work for you so next time we trying to get a person’s view, we should remember that they still learning from life. This reality kills a lot of youths, let’s all go hard on the street and create another pathway. Know the exceptions but review the rules because we’ve seen the pathways of our fathers and I must confess I’m not proud of it.

The lights are out at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport with the body of Late Yaradua touches mother earth. His second in command would take over with the pressure brakes of the majority on the ruling class taking over. A new dawn has begun and finally the people get their wishes but that was before they knew their man and his agenda.

After two years, they would taste another opportunity to elect another leader with emotions having ridden over reality, the incumbent president played to the galleries. Its time for campaign so he promises transformation and tagged it fresh air.

The youths got their share on the social networks but the opposition threatened with different words but their wish was laid aside. May 29 2011, Nigeria was agog with celebration but the impossible 10 years ago would have been a taboo knocked on every door.

It’s the last day of the year and the president gave his pre-new year gift of increasing the fuel price with a partial curfew announced in some states a day before. The Christmas bombing caused an uproar leaving the president amazed at his detractors and confessed ‘Terrorism is what we have to live with.

The days of king David and Solomon are past so we begin at the future for our new King as we bear this cross on our heavy neck. The fear of trying to please everyone has been one of human problems and also the bedrock of failure.

Presidents can put their nation’s hope high anytime they like but not this, following events when the former IGP made a similar statement. The images still re-occur but the FG still put square balls in a rectangle hole.

The operation of Barack Obama on killing of Osama is no doubt a success though it was never made public. Declaring on Tuesday that the FG was winning the war on BH only threatens them yet we don’t know where their shadow is.

His fellow strategist back in the days

I earnestly look forward to the president’s speech on May 29 on what it will address, hopes or assurances? Our attention has been shifted successfully from the infrastructural and social development we don’t have to the insecurity problems we have. While billions is being squandered on soldiers with new ammunitions, where is the little going to the masses? The budget helps in the management of funds but has only helped in creating more problems.

Following the #occupyNigeria protest in January and how it was later sabotaged, many would agree that our leaders are not ready to change though they were scared. If the leaders won’t change, the followers can begin to create another pathway just like Americans believe in their revolution not just in government but in the way they do things also. They have rules you would never break or they would fine you heavily, why not we DISCIPLINE ourselves. We’ve not inherited this land from our fathers but we have borrowed it from our children though I believe we can’t leave an inheritance of a sucked orange.

Yes, there’s still a way out for us to survive this problem if we attack it together, the more we leave it, the more it decays. It’s good for our future as old men when it might become horrible for us to hear gunshots on our bed. We can bear the pain of today now that our kids are now lazy to write WAEC and we receive mass failure, yet we patch it up. If we don’t get it right, I doubt they would be able. Let’s wake up from our slumber and stand guard to face the challenges before us.

May 29 will come and go but someone should have told the president that he needs to see the future and check those who strategize with him. He needs to change them quickly before we have nothing to eat except the brunch. They keep neglecting the causative problems and travel far away to South Korea for prayers. Just confused actions with different mission, God bless Nigeria.
